    Thinking a little bit further it may be an idea to have on smooth roller on the inside so you don’t need the cardboard tube and newspaper. So two rollers parallel and an adjustable gap width between them. The structured roller will need a hole strait through for a steel rod that supports the device and maintains a stable width.

    I would be interested in a handle like the one you have shown in this video. MKM makes great rollers, but I would like to use them on vertical surfaces, too.

    I noticed that you attached a bat to the wheel head that had screws. My wheel head has similar drilled areas that I didn’t know what they were for or where you buy that bat system.

    • @hsinchuen

      It’s the aluminum bat system I designed and it fits most major brand of the wheels with pin spacing 10” apart. For US customers order from My SquareSpace shop sawfish-endive-kgks.squarespace.com/shop For outside US customers order from my Etsy shops www.etsy.com/shop/Hsinchuen

    Very cool. Does the lid come off? At first I thought you were gonna do some video magic and start with the finished product and play the video backwards until you have the raw clay at the end of the video.

      There is no lid. The video was made years ago and just recently fired this piece. This short is to show the result.

    Beautiful work and very functional. My only "critique" would be the need for a seed strainer at the pour spout. Maybe a perforated wall before the spout to strain without clogging?

    You always do a good job and you're always playing little-by-little. Do things I like that. I do a pottery class. I like the teacher cause they do the same things. Explain the whole situation a little bit by little. No, even stop and look help you out. This is why I always walk to your video. Because I learn something new

    Absolutely love the shino with the wax resist technique on the high points of the cuts! The added green on top creates such a beautiful contrast, especially with this clay body. I've taken note of this combo and will definitely give it a try with the glazes we have at our community art studio. Excited to see how it turns out!

    😍 very nice!! Just one question: did you glaze fired the piece with the "lid" on?

    • @hsinchuen
      @hsinchuen 5 дней назад

      I usually fire the lid with body but I was worried the gallery on the lid too thin to hold the weight of the cup so I fired it separately.

    How fascinating to watch this take place. I love the balance between the two aspects needed, and revealed here, in the making of this vase: craftsmanship and artistry that harmoniously exist together. One side is the execution, technique and strategy, and the other is the vision, intuition, and feeling. They are complimentary. This is exactly what human beings benefit from learning. The result is true beauty, it is useful and inspiring. 🌱 ♥︎ I will check back to see if there is a part 2 :)

    I have noticed that you don’t seem to wire off your mugs when using the metal bats with inserts. Do they not need to be cut off with this system? I find I don’t always need to cut my pieces off with the Studio Pro tempered hardboard bats. They pop loose when ready to be trimmed. Your system would take up less space while waiting for them to dry.

    • @hsinchuen
